Nice thing and clever idea, with music as well! Never tried myself to confront the 1k limit. Might be a nice challenge for the future.

when I've first seen this entry, i thought wrong file was uploaded. it was the second file in the disk, silly me. :)))

very cute 1k. i expect two things from a 1k like that (one or the other).

1) amazing effect(s) for the size.
2) ultra cute and well executed intro part with a smart idea.

this one is in the second category. thumbs up!

Conrad! It was cool to get to know you in person. I was so relieved that the k-joke went so well at the party - I was not sure if people would get it or find it funny at all. But they did!
And thank you cba for the perfect screenshot that does not contain spoilers!
I initially wanted to stabilize the timing by activating the 1st and last sprite on all lines used, but didn't have the space for doing that. I do scroll horizontal&vertical, though, even though it doesn't look much like it :)

Jak T Rip: Not necessarily... if you're just doing horizontal-only scrolling with sprites then it doesn't affect the raster-timing at all... just the jittering during a raster compare.

Anyway, nice little 1K.... I lol'd at the "K" joke. :)

Hey Ryk - the issue is that I scroll text and sprite here, which results in different timing for each combination.

No RAM left for a few NOPs in order to stabilize the bottom raster bar? Fun, anyway. :)
