There seems to be a bit of an issue with this game on TheC64. We have had a very dedicated player of the game who had the game crash on that unit (1541, 1581 and CRT version - all alike) but who also couldn't replicate the issue on any PC based emulator.

Ian: Sorry for vague expression. I meant that I couldn't pull back the files added and provide it as a zipped package. You added that, but I couldn't make it so that it would only be available in that complete package. Pulling back something from CSDb is not within my powers...

Bacchus?
> Ian: I can't manage that dimension as it's already posted. Not sure we should add the effort to also optimise the release for that kind of download.

I can't parse your post, something got lost in translation, I guess. It has nothing to do with adding a ZIP with 3 d64s, as I did already. In a release consisting of 2 main d64s and a 3rd d64 with dox, it will lead to some d64 getting more downloaded than the others. That's it.

G-fellow: RTFM. ;)

You press U for Use.
Other keys here : D for Drop, G for Get.

But do have a look at the docs. It's well worth a read.

Great work. This is something like Bards Tale.

How I equip a weapon when I did buy it at the shop?

Yeah, was going to say, have single zips where possible (within the filesize limitation).

Bacchus: those are batch downloaders getting the file from the latestreleases page, where the most downloaded file on the release gets served by default.
It's better to never upload single d64s of multidisks releases but a zipped archive of all files.

Interesting to see that there are more downloads of disk 1 and disk 2. You need both ;)

Don't get me wrong. This is not really the type of game I fancied back in the days and I also see that 60 bucks is really steep. But having played it like I have now, it's amazing.

When you drink, there is units ending up in one register (think "belly") and over time that converts to another register (think "blood"). The level of drunkiness is based on only the second value and if you zero that out, you will be drunk again if there is alcohol still in the belly. That level of detail. Just stunning.

I'm not a fan of this kind of games, I prefer for example adventures like Twin Kingdom Valley. Though there's surely a lot of work and efforts behind this release so it deserves the maximum from me. 10!.

Hat's off to you, sir, this game is a beast.

And commemorative t-shirt is just perfect :D

Now be quiet, I'm trying to watch the interview...

It got a bit of hype in "64er" here - i remember how disappointed i was when i saw the game, didnt live up to the hype at all :)

Bacchus there was no cracks of these games because they were poor quality compared to how difficult the protection is to remove. They were also quite expensive for the time, mine had price tags of $59.95. They were also ports from the Atari 800, and the graphics just aren't very good. IIRC they got poor review scores too.

Thanks for the greets there!
Always prefered Bard's Tale and Dragon Wars over these type of role playing games. Hope thats next on your list as Easyflash or such? :)

Questionable to have such a merchandise and no ashtrays .. tse!

@Didi i think the Intro had som glitches in NTSC mode. Trasher smacked it right and straight.

About the NTSC Fix: Wasn't that a PAL fix? The UCF version seems to have issues on PAL. Or did you use a PAL original which had issues on NTSC instead?

Didi - on this one there is a UCF crack that works, but I am bound to agree on the "too much depth" part. (The City I have seen no working version before ours - the only one that seems fairly ok is that one with a time bomb where you cannot survive beyond the first few visits in the inn).

Also; not sure who renamed it but +4 is not really what it is. Two of the four trainers selectable open an ingame menu with loads of options. So counting the menus as one each is a bit mean.

Maybe it has too much depth for the average kiddie player from past days or it was too expensive and no decent crack was available for free to create an audience to appreciate it.

I am naturally biassed, but why is there so little buzz about this game? I got my c64 in 1986, but I have never seen a copy of the game and I don't know anyone who even had it back in the days.

Having been in just about every corner of the game, I can say that the depth, attention to details and level of challenge was never surpassed on the platform.

yay another *real* crack :) well done Pontus and cheers for the greets!
The ingame keys and trainers are really well done, the loader too. The 1581 version helps as well :)
