I tested both Ian's fix and the original on a real C64 setup.

The original works fine. Ian's fix works fine.

For emulator users, grab the fix.

I wouldn't list this bad code problem as an emulation problem ;)
To prevent crashing
> 50b4 ea

I've made a fix to delay the selfmod code which apparently happened too early "sometimes".
Try the added fix (patch source included) also on the real deal and let me know, if it's the case, the fix should be uploaded as a separate entry.

Hi Freddie, you're unfortunately right. even with the latest Vice it crashes straight after the intro. I have checked this version (the upper Link) on a real Commodore 64 and it works completely, every chapter can be loaded properly. So sometimes you have to use the original c64 (back to the roots :o)

I wonder if this one works... No luck with CCS v3.5 or Vice...
