Don't quite understand that one. It was only worth doing stuff if you stole other peoples stuff? You did your own gfx didn't you? It seems so from looking at your page on here.
*Edit*
Ok, Ste informs me I've probably read that wrong and you're actually saying if prods you make weren't ripped off by other groups it meant they weren't great prods.. which makes more sense :) | User Comment Submitted by Jon on 16 August 2010
Sweet Jesus, we were teenage software pirates. If you made something and it WASN'T ripped off it wasn't worth making to begin with. Stolen routines, stolen music, stolen gfx... This was a FACT in the 80s scene.

There's a thread for this guys ;) | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 16 August 2010
hu ? it was my first group, ie my beginner group. how hard to understand is that and how is that history revision? *shrug*
(just looked over the list of releases, and infact i cant agree with the "stole a lot of stuff" part anymore. what are you referring to exactly? =P) | User Comment Submitted by Jon on 16 August 2010
1988 was the "beginning"? You can't be serious.
Cripes. Everyone is into revisionist history tonight.

"Your little ICE group stole a LOT of stuff."
sure. everyone did in the beginning. and no doubt that group can be classified as "local lamers" - like most peoples beginner groups :=) | User Comment Submitted by Jon on 16 August 2010
I'm not sure I like what you are implying, Groepaz. Your little ICE group stole a LOT of stuff.

"Well i don't know how you used to operate mate, but we had "rules" of operation over here. One of which was that You don't try to pass off somebody elses stuff from the scene as your own."
sure thing. still csdb is about documenting the entire scene, even the lamers that broke said rules. | User Comment Submitted by STE'86 on 16 August 2010

STE- You do realize that we were SOFTWARE PIRATES, right? And for the most part, this is a database of software pirates from the 1980-1990s era?
And you are complaining about fair use 20+ years after the fact?
Really?

I'm not sure they actually tried to give the impression they painted this, rather tagging it with the group's abbreviation. I agree though that removing the author's signature is utterly lame. | User Comment Submitted by STE'86 on 15 August 2010
its a graphics rip when they use the pic WITH the name in a DEMO without permission. it is most certainly NOT a fcking graphics rip when they replace my name and it appears in the GRAPHICS section of this database. | User Comment Submitted by JCB on 15 August 2010
Seen plenty of graphics "rips" before but taking the artists name off and replacing it with a different one is a rip-off, different thing, trying to pass someone else's work off as their own. lame. | User Comment Submitted by Zyron on 15 August 2010
It's just a graphics rip, quite common & nothing to get upset about really. :) | User Comment Submitted by STE'86 on 15 August 2010 User Comment Submitted by JCB on 15 August 2010
