@Ragnarok: I can see your point but it's not all about the technique. I think our 'subject' has the personal style that would lose the character if altered. The way as I see the development is to find themes that fit the style well. Check "Spidy", that is a perfect match of cartoon style, the subject and humour.

@NecroPolo i did not say "realistic" =). but i would like to see him getting better. and he wont get better if he is always using the same techniques. besides, this also does not look like comic fur. also i would say that constructive criticism is something that every artist should get from other artists =)

@Ragnarok: Why would an obvious cartoon mammoth need realistic fur? I can't see the point. A cartoon pic is not necessarily art school and it doesn't need to be :)

hmm, no. you can do better than this. do not use the kind of filling you normally use and than add some black lines. look up pictures of fur and then try again.

Actually, I really like the small ear :) Your choice of colours and the 'weird' proportions give the image a surrealist feeling. More please!

I guess you all will comment on the mammoth's little ear, originally this picture comes from my drawing of a mammoth and I stole that from a digital image of three mammoths, and all had such little ears, I also thought about creating big ears aswell..
