Group id #3982 : The Devils

Would anyone think that this is really a different group from Devils ? At least the members are mixed up; I think very much that they are the same. Any opposition? Otherwise I will merge them by hand.

Oh my god, I've been staring at this mess too... Total confusion and mixup. I second your opinion, it's one and the same gang. Problem is there are big shifts in the roster.

MEMBERS

The first Devils crack seems to be The Volleyball Simulator from February 1988. Scroller reads "Yeah, a new group was born!! The Devils well come !! [snip] Members of Devils are : Mago , Mr. Silver , Strikeforce , GCF, Darkness and Rial"

So let's assume they were founded January or possibly February 1988. So this would then be the initial memberlist.

Later (demo) releases are often credited to Han Solo and The S.Y.S., so we can assume they joined a little later (early summer?) and worked pretty tightly together.

Then The Electronic Dreams was added as a subgroup, and today I found Druuna which seems to be the first work from TED Crew. In a scroller, Thor says "I think the real (I mean old) Devils members are now on Amiga", which would explain the hefty roster change.

So the old gang (Mago, Mr. Silver, Strikeforce, GCF, Darkness and Rial) was only active the first couple of months 1988 and then shifted to Amiga, leaving Han Solo, The S.Y.S and TED Crew as the only active ones?

Gamma Cracking Force as subgroup is mentioned in this "first crack" but it needs further investigation. I can only see 1 or 2 releases where they are mentioned... So maybe they were subgroup only for a short period of time (early 88?).

COOPS

When did the coop with Druids start? Interesting to note that most (if not all) Devils+Druids coop were done by Druid members. What was Devils' contribution?

They also seem to have had a coop with X-Ample Architectures but I can't find any release other than an demo (Co-operation Demo) to go with that...

MISC

The "666 thing" can only be traced to one release (We're Savage) so I don't think that should count for the group as a whole - in a wider perspective.

"All guys who call themself member of Devils are lamers and can not be mentioned !! Only the founding members of devils can say : I'am a member of Devils !! ." (from We're Savage).
